Gamma ray spectrometer MKSP-01 RADEK
Scintillation portable gamma ray spectrometer MKSP-01 RADEK is intended for measuring scintillation spectrums of radionuclides gamma radiation.
It is used for determination of activities and specific activities of radionuclides in samples and in conditions of natural occurrence in geometries 2p and 4p. The spectrometer can be used for operation in laboratory and also in field conditions ("in situ").
The basis of spectrometer is a monoblock in which a scintillator, a photoelectron multiplier (PMT), an analog-to-digital-converter MD-208 (MCA - multichannel analyzer), a high-voltage and low-voltage modules are mounted. For fieldworks the spectrometer is placed in a thermoprotective housing, the cover of which is connected via a socket with the spectrometer.
Spectrometer contains a system of automatic stabilization of gain.
It is
produced with three types of detectors:
BDEG-63 – on the base of monocrystal
NaI(Tl) with dimensions 63х63mm;
BDEG-80 – on the base of monocrystal
NaI(Tl) with dimensions 80х80mm;
BDEG-LB – on the base of monocrystal
LaBr3.
Spectrometer technical information (in pdf):
- number of spectrum channels
- 1024;
- maximum number
of spectrums stored in the volatile memory – 200 (800);
- connection
channel with PC – BlueTooth;
- channel capacity - 232
countings;
- minimum operation time with accumulator
– 10 hours.
A GPS receiver and a radio transmitting module BlueTooth are inbuilt in the spectrometer. Also the device contains a real-time clock, a volatile memory for settings and spectrums, a lamp indicator and a control button.
Spectrometer metrological characteristics:
Range of registered energies from
100 to 3000 keV.
Energy resolution with scintillation
detection units BDEG-63 and BDEG-80 on line of gamma-radiation of 137Cs radionuclide with energy 661,7
keV doesn’t exceed respectively 9 and 9,5 %.
Detection efficiency of spectrometer
in housing with detection unit BDEG-63 and BDEG-80 in full absorption peak with
energy 661,66 keV of radionuclide 137Cs of point source from the set
OSGI, mounted closely to the end surface with energy 661,7 keV, is no less than 4 % and 8% respectively.
Maximum input statistical load of
spectrometer is no less than 5∙104 s-1.

is no more than 1,0 %.
Control:
The control of spectrometer by computer is carrying out by dint of universal
program ASW.
By mobile phone or Tablet PC by dint of special program ASpectr (for OS Android, connection
via BlueTooth) .
In field conditions the spectrometer can be controlled by dint of button (without
PC or Tablet PC).
